Here’s how to join...

Just email or U.S. mail us and provide your name, email address (if you have one), US mail address (P.O. Boxes are ok), phone number, and any other information you think is important (e.g., whether you are a parent, scientist or educator, if you are friends with a school board member or legislator, etc). Our membership list is strictly confidential. We will not share any of your personal information with anyone without your prior written consent.

NCSE List Serve for G.E.N.E.S.

After joining GENES, you are eligible to join the list serve provided by the National Center for Science Education for our group. E-mail a request to be added to the NCSE list serve to info@genestn.org. Once approved, you will be added by the list serve administrator.

The Tennessee NCSE List Serve allows us to stay informed about evolution education issues in Tennessee. This list is part of the AIBS/NCSE Evolution List Server Network, which maintains an email listserver for each state. These are open lists, and the purpose is to distribute news and discuss state-specific science education issues:

The email list servers allow scientists, teachers, and other interested parties to be in touch with each other locally, nationally, and internationally. They can facilitate support groups for teachers trying to teach evolution in a difficult atmosphere. They can also permit rapid communications and grass-roots activity when school boards or legislatures are considering policies that will promote the teaching of anti-evolutionary ideas in science classes.

Financial Support

Currently, our expenses are so low that we only occasionally ask members or friends for financial support for small tasks or projects. We do ask that members and friends actively use their phone, fax machine, email, U.S. mail, etc., to work for our mission and objectives.
